What happens when I arrive?

You'll be greeted by name. We pull your chart before you sit down, so there's no clipboard marathon at the front desk. A robe is waiting in your private changing room — soft cotton, not paper. Your technologist introduces herself before she touches anything.

What actually happens during the scan?

You stand at the machine and I position your breast between two plates. I'll tell you exactly what I'm doing before I do it, every single time. The compression lasts about 7 seconds per view. We take four images total — two of each side. The whole imaging part is done in under 10 minutes.

Honest answer

Does it hurt?

Honestly? There's pressure. For most women, it's uncomfortable for those 7 seconds but not painful. If you're tender before your period, scheduling a week after is worth it. If you have implants, we have a modified protocol. Tell me anything — I'd rather adjust than have you white-knuckle through it.

How long is the whole appointment?

From check-in to walking out: 30 to 45 minutes for a screening mammogram. If you're here for a diagnostic study or ultrasound, allow 60 to 90 minutes. We honor your time. If we're running behind by more than 10 minutes, the front desk will call you before you leave home.

"I tell every patient the same thing I'd tell my own mother: you're in control here. Say stop, and we stop."

The Experience

A room designedto lower your shoulders.

We built the space around what women told us made them dread their appointments — and then we fixed every single one of those things.

Quiet rooms

No overhead paging. Soft instrumental.

Warm lighting

Dimmable. Never fluorescent.

Water waiting

Poured before you sit down.

Cotton robes

Not paper. Never paper.

Women only

Every staff member in imaging.

No rushing

Your technologist is yours alone.

Your Results

How long until you know?Usually before lunch.

The waiting is the worst part. We built our entire workflow around eliminating it.

Within the hour
01

Your radiologist reads your images

A board-certified radiologist reviews your 3D mammogram while you're still here. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Before you leave our building in most cases.

You hear from us directly

A member of our team calls you — not a portal notification, not a letter. A person. We explain what we saw in plain language. No jargon, no hedging.

Within 24 hours
03

Your referring doctor receives a full report

Your OB-GYN or primary care physician gets our complete radiology report by secure fax and through our provider portal. They'll have everything they need before your next appointment.

What does the result actually mean?

We use a standard scoring system called BI-RADS. When we call you, we explain your score in plain language — not the number, but what it means for your next step. Category 1 or 2 means routine follow-up. Category 3 means a short-interval return visit, not alarm. We walk you through every scenario before you hang up.

If Something Is Found

The question everyoneis afraid to ask.

Most findings are not cancer. But every finding deserves a clear answer, a calm voice, and a plan. Here is exactly what happens.

100%
of patients get a navigator call

You hear from a radiologist — not a letter

If we find something that needs a closer look, a radiologist calls you personally. We explain exactly what we saw, what it likely is, and what we recommend next. We stay on the phone until your questions are answered.

Additional imaging, often the same day

Most callbacks are for additional views or an ultrasound — not because something is wrong, but because we want to see more clearly. In most cases, we can do that imaging during the same visit or schedule you within 48 hours.

We coordinate with your care team

If further evaluation is needed, we don't hand you a referral and wish you luck. Our patient navigator calls your doctor's office, explains the findings, and helps get the next appointment scheduled. You shouldn't have to manage that alone.

You are not alone in this room

Every member of our team has sat with a patient who just heard difficult news. We know that moment. We've been in it ourselves. We don't rush you out. We sit with you, answer every question, and help you figure out your next step.

"I have been in this room for eighteen years. I have sat with hundreds of women on hard days. What I know is this: knowing is always better than not knowing. You came. That is the bravest thing."

— Dr. Patricia Osei-Bonsu, MD, Lead Radiologist
